경국대전(經國大全)

경국대전은 조선초기에 시행하던 여러 법령(法令), 교지(敎旨), 조례(條例) 및 관례(慣例) 등을 중심으로 하여 편찬한 조선 왕조의 법전(法典)이다. 최 항(崔恒), 노사신(盧思愼) 등이 세조(世祖)의 명에 의거 1460년(세조 6)에 호전(戶典)을 완성하고, 그 이듬해 형전(刑典)을, 그리고 1469년(예종 원년)에 나머지 4전(典)을 완성해서 6권4책으로 편찬하고, 금속활자인 갑인자로 인출간행하였다. 내용을 살펴보면 관제(官制)에 의거 吏, 戶, 禮, 兵, 刑, 工의 6전(典)으로 나누고, 각 조(曹)의 관장 사무 및 그 직제를 규정하고 있다. 소개하는 이 책은 1469년에 간행된 갑인자를 목판에 다시 새긴번각본(翻刻本)이다.
Collection of the legal codes of Joseon dynasty. Included are various laws, statutes, royal letters of appointment to high ranking officials, and legal precedents of the time. Divided into 6 sections after the governmental structure, each section stipulates the organization and job description of the six departments of the government: Personnel (Yi), Finance(Ho), Education(Ye), Military(Byeong), Judiciary(Hyeong), and Industry(Gong). Our collection comes from the re-engraved edition, in metal type.
